COMMING BACK
La rentrée is a French concept that describes coming back after a rest or a vacation. I don't really know what to write in this editorial because, as you yourself surely croissant, you don't want to go back. If you come back, you'd like to get up in the morning and have the shower at the perfect temperature, the breakfast flying to the table and the clothes put on by themselves. Children? What? No responsibilities. Your job, the only job you have to do, is go to the beach. Wow, this plan doesn't sound routine, it sounds like the plot of the movie "Barbie". But don't envy her, even Barbie has problems in her life. Perfection doesn't exist. Routine is unavoidable. The rentrée also has some good things. I can't think of any right now but we'll find out this week, if you want, together.

VOLVER.
La rentrée es un concepto francés que describe el volver después de un descanso, de unas vacaciones. No sé muy bien que escribir en esta editorial porqué, como tu mismo seguramente croissant, no quieres volver. Si vuelves, te gustaría levantarte por la mañana y que la ducha tuviera la temperatura perfecta, el desayuno volara hasta la mesa y la ropa se te pusiera sola. ¿Niños? ¿El qué? Sin responsabilidades. Tu trabajo, el único que debes hacer, es ir a la playa. Vaya, este plan no suena a rutina, sino al argumento de la película "Barbie". Pero no la envidies, hasta Barbie tiene problemas en su vida. La perfección no existe, la rutina es inevitable. La rentrée también tiene cosas buenas. Ahora no se me ocurre ninguna pero esta semana lo averiguaremos, si quieres, juntos.

WATERCOLORS WITH COFFEE
The illustrations in this issue have been painted in watercolor with coffee, pencil and ink. Using a liquid that is already pigmented, in this case coffee, makes it possible to create a coherent color palette since this pigment, coffee, acts as a photographic filter and unifies. Yes, I have said coffee several times, I love this liquid beyond my means. The result is a bit amateurish and naïf, as I have to scan and retouch it a lot, but I like it. It connects with my inner child, the one who went to painting classes and started painting with watercolor. These late summer days I have been painting for myself. I don't know what comes after September, I have no idea, I don't know if they will be calm days or stormy days (and I like storms a lot). But this end of summer with watercolors is already mine. This "it doesn't matter", this "paint whatever you want", has already been mine.

ACUARELAS CON CAFÉ
Las ilustraciones de este número han estado pintadas con acuarela con café, lápiz y tinta. Utilizar un líquido que ya está pigmentado, en este caso el café, permite crear una paleta de color coherente ya que este pigmento, el café, hace como un filtro de fotografía y unifica. Sí, he dicho varias veces café, amo ese líquido por encima de mis posibilidades. El resultado es un poco amateur i naïf, ya que debo escanearlo y retocarlo mucho, pero me gusta. Conecta con mi niño interior, el que iba a clases de pintura y empezaba a pintar con acuarela. Estos días de final de verano he pintado para mí. No sé que viene después de septiembre, no tengo ni idea, no sé si serán días tranquilo o días de tormenta (y eso que las tormentas me gustan mucho). Pero este final de verano con acuarelas ya es mío. Este "no importa", este "pinta lo que quieras", ya ha sido mío.

FEMINISM IN PINK
Doing these illustrations I finished the pink pen, just like in the movie "Barbie" that in its production ended up with the world's stock of pink paint, so says its art director. I chose this film for this issue both for its topicality and feminist discourse as it speaks of the impossibility of women to be women. In a monologue as contradictory as it is brilliant, the actress America Ferrar (Gloria in the film) explains how being a woman is impossible since nothing she is or does is ever enough. It is true that this is a commercial film of faith.

FEMINISMO EN ROSA
Haciendo estas ilustraciones terminé el boli rosa, igual que en la película "Barbie" que en su producción terminaron con la reserva mundial de pintura rosa, eso dice su directora de arte. Elegí esta película para este número tanto por su actualidad como por discurso feminista ya que habla de la imposibilidad que tiene las mujeres de ser mujeres. En un monologo tan contradictorio como brillante la actriz America Ferrar (Gloria en la película) nos explica cómo ser mujer es imposible ya que nada de lo que sea o haga es nunca suficiente. Es cierto que se trata de una película comercial de feminismo rosa sobre una muñeca con alma de capitalismo pero con buen corazón. Es un película dirigida por una mujer, Greta Gerwig, y la intención que tiene es hacernos pensar mientras nos hace reír. No me imagino una mejor forma de hacerlo. Ahora que volvemos a nuestras rutinas a lo mejor también podemos recordar quienes somos, como está está el mundo y qué podemos hacer. Eh! Es solo una idea.
