_Véritable conte de la mille et troisième nuit, Chanel, dont c'est décidément le chiffre porte-bonheur, a cinq vies. Cinq entités distinctes qui ne communiquent pas directement entre elles, mais dont le fil conducteur, du début à la fin de ce siècle, demeure le style. Un mot qui semble avoir été inventé pour s'accrocher à son nom. Ce style qui, par-delà les desseins changeants de la mode, détermine ce qui dure: un ordre, des comportements, un ton qui est le bon. Sans jamais sombrer dans le bon ton: "l'allure de Chanel".

"MÉMOIRE DE LA MODE. CHANEL"
he recent contemporary history of Paris is impossible to separate from fashion. Fashion in France (F in F) is more than industry, it is an institution. Some of the most important historical artist and designer signatures made their names in this streets (or pass by in some moment) and were inspired by this Parisian impetus. Museums, art, design, literature, cinema, music, shows, food... All presented somehow that, hardly, you can't find out of this little micro-climate (Or that is what we love to think).
The question is, what the old Paris (built 150 years ago) can offers to an industry that its business is the NEW!
Fashion weeks and new interesting brands show up their talent all around the world, creating new trends, new ways to understand the body, the human spirit, making the real change. But, with all, Paris is always there, in each stitch. In Paris, parfum was related to fashion, parties were related to the newness and the elegance was related to business. The leader ship where everybody aspire to show their creations during the pass of the years, repeating word-of-mouth"Paris is Fashion" in each generation. At last, inventing the huge myth and its mythology, which lives inside untouchables gods and goddesses. By the way, all of them very well dressed.
But, if it is the same Paris being Paris for so many years, what could offer this city as new? Why people keeps coming back four times at year? Why is it so attractive? The answer is so easy. Paris offers as new "itself", in some way as fashion does. Maybe this is why they made such a beautiful tandem, you can't separate the concept of fashion from Paris as you can't separate Paris itself from its cafes.

are are those creators equally as involved as Paul Poiret in innovation and all the possibilities offered by the applied arts. Revealed during the Belle époque, gifted with boundless curiosity, inventiveness and audacity, aided by his comfortable affluence, "le Magnificque" ruled the world of fashion, i.e. Paris. Borne along by the artistic tide and caught up in the social whirl of Parisian high society, he had a love for the theater, the Ballets Russes, music and painting. His establishment, pervaded by an air of freedom, modernity, color and cheer, stopped producing corsets and lace and sought out refinement.
Poiret was the first couturier to launch his own perfumery, Parfums de Rosine (1911), and his mind was constantly striving to integrate fashion into space, and thus into the art of living. His sumptuous parties were famous, a beacon of the roaring Twenties. To him, everything was possible. He was a public relations man, ahead of the public relations age, and designed his work with the help of famous artists, painters and illustrators.
